How The Holy Spirit Casts Out Doubt

Writer: Kevin WilliamsKevin Williams

Although these texts were sent to me I believe they could have been sent to the majority of sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors at abortion clinics anywhere in the world.

This girl came up to us a few months ago. She was pretty certain that we were doing more harm than good. That our intentions were all wrong. That there probably isn't a God anyway. That we were not concerned about women's authentic health problems in pregnancy. After we addressed all of her concerns and showed her the baby save picture album and told her all the "God stories" with them, how the pro life communtity had paid bills, found jobs, housing, provided training for careers etc. a girl walked up in a severe relationship problem that looked like she would likely be homeless if she didn't abort the way things were going. Then she watched me talking to her, put her on the phone with a pregnancy center, arrange a free ultrasound, hold her hand and pray with her and exchange contact information. Saw the wet eyes. When the girl happily went on her way who chose life I turned around and she was looking at me jaw agape with this look of amazement on her face and told my counterpart Sherri something along the lines of "I've NEVER seen anyone so full of love and compassion before."

I have.

And it has always been watching other sidewalk counselors pleading for the lives of children. It is like the Holy Spirit sometimes just takes over. I exchanged contact information with this girl too and kept her updated on the status of the girl who chose life that day.

Most of her remarks in these text messages were about you guys who were offering tangible help and offering resources. You guys were amazing her. These are just her texts. I'm not including my texts to her.

Please pray for this girl. She had pretty much abandoned her faith and was even doubting the existence of God...til our encounter that day. God knows how to down more than one Giant with just one stone. I have a feeling there were multiple choices for life that day.

Like I said, had she walked up to just about any group of sidewalk counselors in the country given the same circumstances she would would have been just as astonished as she was with us. It is the self same Spirit working through us.

Hi Kevin! I can see the reasons you do what you do. After seeing A____ yesterday, it makes me feel a heaviness for her and the baby deep inside my stomach.

I wish there was a way to let her know that if she could bring that little soul earthside, there would be someone full of love eagerly waiting for him the moment his eyes first see light.

I understand that the challenges women face with gestating and pregnancy, I've been on the front lines. But that still doesn't change the forlorn sadness that comes with the decision to terminate.

Did the Alpha Center confirm her pregnancy?

Is she willing or able to accept your help for her current situation?

Hi Kevin!

I'm glad that things are looking a little more open for A____- it would be AMAZING if she flew out to the place you recommended.

I'm stunned by the quality of your friends! The average American likes to tell themselves they are helping in the world, but many don't/can't actually do much. But your people walk the walk!

I also want to tell you that I appreciate how you are loving people without judgement. I'm not sure if that is how you always are, but you are living your life as a TRUE Christian Kevin.

We all know believers/followers that are so hypocritical that they "turn off" people that truly want to know God.

And to be honest, they are so vocal that they take up all the space, especially on the internet.

But people like you are there too, but instead of taking up space you are behind the scenes confidently and kindly trying to support women on the front lines.

I hope she flies out to a place that can help her!

Then this last message REALLY warmed my heart she sent me yesterday (Father's Day) 😉

"Happy surrogate fathers day! You've done some good work, Kevin! Celebrating you today."

The girl in this post who chose life is having a gender reveal party next week. Several churches are involved in doing baby showers etc. The couple has been going to Church. We found them a place to live, employment, they are thriving and God is sooooo GOOD!!! 😉
